1 REFUGEE CRISIS ‘When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me’ (Matthew 25:35)

2 The refugee crisis facing Europe is the biggest population
movement since the Second World War

3 Many of those seeking sanctuary have escaped the civil war in Syria, which is entering its fifth year and has no end in sight

4 Four million Syrian refugees have fled their homeland.
Tearfund is working with partners across the Middle East where the majority of those affected are still based.

5 We’re also partnering with European churches
to help people who have fled the conflict and undertaken hazardous journeys to reach the EU

6 PLEASE PRAY: for a swift, compassionate and more effective response to the refugee crisis in Europe

7 PLEASE PRAY: that those fleeing war and persecution will find safe havens where they can begin to put the traumas they have experienced behind them and lead lives free from fear for solutions to the root causes driving people to flee – the conflict in Syria, poverty and inequality for our church partners in Europe as they seek to show the love of Jesus to people who’ve lost family, friends, homes and livelihoods

8 Thanks to your generous donations Tearfund’s European partners are now fully funded.
We welcome donations for our ongoing work in the Middle East:

9 THANK YOU tearfund.org/refugee
