Decide what program you want to attract support for. Decide what kind of support you want to look for. Decide who is most likely to provide that support. Come up with a specific written request for the support. Follow up: Make yourself available for any questions. Contact the potential supporter for their decision. Be ready to help them begin.

7 General tips in attracting and keeping support:
Be helpful to others. Thank supporters publicly. Stay informed about client populations, new service opportunities, and the community as a whole. Give supporters lots of feedback about their efforts. Show that your program is needed and effective.
