4 The Challenge Connectivity, Coverage , Capacity
To deliver high capacity throughput for multiple applications To support organic network growth as businesses grow- with minimum technical obstacles To offer a balance between high capacity, fast deployment, reliability and cost To provide regulation-free wireless connectivity in a noisy environment To reliably cover high range, with high interference mitigation Despite our hyper-dynamic world of “instant on”, not everyone can take part. In rural communities from Kansas to Kenya, 60% - 90% of the people don’t have broadband access due to the high costs and low profits of running wire. There aren’t enough people to make it economically feasible for commercial providers. Often there is less than 1 person per km2 or mi2. And metropolitan areas are not without problems. In cities, too many people are competing for a finite amount of bandwidth that is affected by trees, tall buildings and electrical interference. The challenge for operators, businesses and consumers is to find the right balance between connectivity, capacity and coverage; a balance that is practical, profitable and affordable.

5 The Solution: BreezeULTRA™

Capacity Unleashed Point-to-Point AU Antenna BreezeULTRA P6000 Point-to-Multipoint AU Antenna BreezeULTRA M7000 Hybrid (Backhaul-PtMP) Antenna AU BreezeULTRA X8000 Alvarion BreezeULTRA *is* multiplicity. BreezeULTRA is a family of wireless products that offers a variety of models to comply with varying deployment needs. The models are divided into three main categories: • Point-to-Point – offering single and dual radio links as well as a link extender for ULTRA long links where multiple hops are needed. • Point-to-Multipoint – offering one, two or three sectors in a single box with standard or ULTRA capacity, according to the number of subscribers and the application types. • Hybrid – offering a backhaul link and one or two sectors in a single box. The hybrid product simplifies installation, saves the cost of additional accessories and reduces the required space on towers.

The models are divided into three main categories: • Point-to-Point – offering single and dual radio links as well as a link extender for ULTRA long links where multiple hops are needed. The Link Extender is designed for use in very long links when a single link cannot be used. The Link Extender is a single box with two antennas that is located in the middle of the wireless link, and acts as a repeater. Unlike a repeater, after the Link Extender receives the signal, it extracts the data and rebuilds a new signal. Although the maximum range of each Link Extender is 50 km (31 miles), the number of hops and total link range is unlimited since the signal is rebuilt each time. • Point-to-Multipoint – offering one, two or three sectors in a single box with standard or ULTRA capacity, according to the number of subscribers and the application types. • Hybrid – offering a backhaul link and one or two sectors in a single box. The Hybrid products are deployed in locations where connectivity is not available to feed the sector that is providing the service. In such deployments, a Point-to-Point backhaul solution must be introduced. The BreezeULTRA Hybrid solution provides both the wireless backhaul and one or two sectors in a single box. This makes it easy to install and highly cost-effective. Savings from the Hybrid solution include faster installation; reduced maintenance costs; reduced space on the tower or pole; fewer accessories (power suppliers, cables, etc.) and simplified site management. * Roadmap Item
