How is unit 3 different? Unit 3 is a decision making exercise. It will examine your ability to analyse a number of different solutions to a problem and to reach a justified conclusions. Do not worry, we have lots of time to go through the pre-release material and to perfect our decision making skills!

Why is Unit 3 important? Good decision making skills are one of the best qualities that help a person tread through all walks of life with ease and confidence In this exam you must show that you: Fully understand the issue Evaluate the pros and cons Assess sustainability Reach justified decisions and conclusions

What will the exam be like? 1-hour exam 3 sections and 50 marks 25% of GCSE Based on pre-release material, which you must LEARN, ENGAGE WITH and UNDERSTAND!

SECTION A Short questions and open ended questions about the pre-release material SECTION B Slightly longer questions which need detailed evidence, using the information from the booklet SECTION C Involves decision making, based on advantages and disadvantages of the options. What will the exam be like?

You must keep your Pre-Release booklet safe! Make sure you read it thoroughly! Feel free to make annotations, you will get a new copy for the exam Keep a glossary of all the key words in the booklet Do some additional reading around the subject. Watch programmes on the TV relevant to the topic e.g. BBC news and local news Research each of the six options for the future, reach your own justified conclusion about which you think is best!
