Only plug heat-producing appliances into the wall outlet.
Use power strips for low amp items such as computers, TVs, dvd players etc.
Use light bulbs that match the recommended wattage of the fixture.
Use extension cords for temporary purposes only.
Never piggy-back power strips into each other.
Avoid putting cords where they can be damaged or pinched.
