1 Lesson 6.2 Solving Equations with Variable on Both Sides Word Problems
Essential Question: How do you solve equations with variables on both sides?

2 Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides
To solve an equation with variables on both sides, you’ll continue to use inverse operations to isolate the variable. However, we’ll have to collect variable terms on side and constant terms on the other side.

3 How do I solve an equation with variables on both sides?
Simplify expressions on both sides of the equation. Collect all variable terms on one side of the equation. Collect all constant terms on the other side of the equation. Use inverse operations to isolate the variable.
