Sort the deck of 110 occupational names into the five categories according to how attractive they are to you. Do NOT consider how much money you would make or weather or not you have the required talents. You should sort the cards quickly. Take about seven to ten minutes to sort the entire deck.

4 Directions Take the 12 to 18 cards with the occupations you find most attractive and group them into “naturally” occurring groups, according some common themes they share. Give a name to each of the groups that illustrates themes they have in common. The names of the groups should reveal your broad areas of interest.

5 Questions What themes run through the occupations that you find most attractive? Is your current job, or the way you tend to approach your job, similar to these themes? If you could not continue in your current job, are any of the jobs that you find attractive appropriate for you? Which of the options currently available to you is most consistent with the largest number of the themes you came up with?
