18 Game: Get 71/2

19 Get 71/2 (L2 activity) You will need:
1 blank dice for each pair of children, with numbers 1-4 written on four faces and the symbols for ½ on two faces A score sheet for each The game is played in pairs. The teacher explains that this symbol (½) means half a point and asks how many half points they need to complete a whole point. The aim of the game is to get to seven and a half as a total score. Each child has a turn and throws the die twice. The answer sheet has a space for them to write the two numbers thrown and a space for them to write the total of these 2 numbers. In the first turn, no one can get 7½. The next turn, they throw the dice and see whether they are at 7½. They continue adding. If they go beyond, they can subtract with the next numbers they throw. The first child who gets exactly 7½ wins the game. They can have several turns as the game moves quite quickly.
