12 PLACE: CUTS: 2-5-1 1-2 yr old Colts

13 Colt #4 in 1st Place POSITIVES +Good muscling (muscling +)
+Attractive face (sex +) +Clean throatlatch (balance +) +Strong HQ region (muscling +) +Strong forearm (structure +) +AQH breed (breed +) NEGATIVES -Slightly back at knee (structure -) -Hip too high (balance -) -Steep croup (balance -) This colt is leading the class with muscling. He has a very heavily muscled hind quarter region, as well as muscle throughout his forearm and the rest of his body. His hip is lower set than the rest of the colts in the class. He also exemplifies good breed and sex character. He is slightly back at the knee in the front, but overall, this colt is at the top of this class.

14 Colt #2 POSITIVES +Descent muscling (muscling +)
+Attractive face (sex +) +Clean throatlatch (balance +) +Clean legs (structure +) NEGATIVES -Hip too high (balance -) This colt has descent muscling for his age. He has an attractive face and clean throatlatch. His legs are also clean and free of blemishes. His hip is slightly too high, but this may change with age.

15 Top Pair Colt #4 Colt #2 +Better muscling +Hip is lower set
+More masculine +Better balance +Straighter through the knee Both colts have good muscling and overall balance for their age. Colt #4 is a little more developed with stronger muscling. Each colt has a descent and equal shoulder. Colt #4 has a shorter, stronger back. Colt 4’s croup is a little steeper, but he still has a long hip and well-muscled hindquarter. Colt #4 has a stronger shorter back than colt 2. Each colt is higher at the hip, but this may even out with age.

16 Colt #2 POSITIVES +Ok Muscling (muscling +)
+Clean throatlatch (balance +) NEGATIVES -Hip too high (balance -) -Narrow build (structure -) -Slight splay in front (structure -) -Short hip (balance -) -Neck underling is long (balance -) -Feminine appearance (sex -) -Slightly back at knee (structure -) This colt has a very high hip, it may correct with age (but this one may not). He has ok muscling for his young age. His neck does not have a good top-to-bottom ratio, with the underline being too lengthy. He is a more narrowly built horse. He is also slightly back at the knee, but it is nothing major…it could be the image. He also has a more feminine appearance. His feet slightly splay in the front leading to a weaker structure.

17 Colt #1 POSITIVES +Descent muscling (muscling +)
+Wide build (structure +) +Strong HQ region (muscling +) NEGATIVES -Camped under (structure -) -Long pastern (structure -) -High neck tie-in (balance -) -Upright shoulder (balance -) -Possible ewe-neck (balance -) -Short croup (balance -) This colt has descent muscling and a wider build. His neck ties in high, and he has more muscling on the underneath side which may cause a ewe-neck with age. He has an upright shoulder and lengthy pasterns which cause poorer balance and structure. His hip is higher than his wither, and his croup is rather steep and short.

18 Bottom Pair Colt #2 Colt #1 +Better balance +Nicer shoulder
+Better body flow +Stronger topline +Wider build +More masculine Both colts have adequate muscling for their age. Colt #2’s overall body blends and flows more nicely than colt #1’s making him more pleasing to the eye. Both colts have poor necks…Colt #2 has a very long bottom ration on his neck while colt #1 has a high tie-in and may develop a ewe-neck with age. Colt #2 has a stronger topline and more correct slope to his shoulder. Colt #1’s shoulder is steeper and he has lengthier pasterns. Colt 1’s croup is also steep and short, which makes his balance poorer.
