Watch the video and look at the types of communications that are happening – watch the practitioner, what is she encouraging the children to do, how is she encouraging their development, their language, their problem solving skills. Give them some paper & pens so they can write their ideas

Then look at NVC’s, show the video and suggest they think about how the way we say things can alter the meaning

Can we identify barriers that may exist?
Do we create barriers?
Encourage them to identify barriers that may exist in their setting? Language – Is English their home language? Do we think about the words we use, do we always get down to their level? What about noise levels, temperature – too hot, too cold. Link to values – respect, voice, opinions
