1 In the Power of His Might
NEXT SLIDE: Lesson 2

2 LESSON 7 Be Ye Transformed

3 Adam’s sin opened the door to two kinds of enmity:

4 The devil and his seed the woman and her seed

5 The carnal mind the Spirit of God

6 One battle rages around you,
…and two powerful forces battle within you.

7 “the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience” (Eph 2:2)

8 “God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Phil 2:13)

9 We choose who occupies the throne of our heart:

10 We choose who occupies the throne of our heart:
By default, the lusts of the flesh;

11 We choose who occupies the throne of our heart:
By determination, the Lord Jesus.

12 Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful..

13 Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

14 The Lord can only occupy the room we give him
The Lord can only occupy the room we give him. Sometimes, that isn’t much.

15 Isaiah 49:20b . . . The place is too strait [narrow] for me: give place to me that I may dwell.

16 The battle for your heart is like
King David’s battle for Mount Zion:

17 The Jebusites had built and occupied a strong fortress on top of Zion, but God had other plans.
Psalm 132:13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

18 They laughed at David’s army, saying that even the blind and lame could defend such a stronghold.
But they could not resist the will and power of God.

19 2 Samuel 5:7 Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

20 Years of living in unbelief and fear taught you to build a strong fortress around your heart.
Now the fortress is a prison, keeping you from living in faith in God.

21 Before the Lord can govern your heart, these walls must come down.
But the flesh will not fight itself. We need spiritual weapons to pull down these strongholds.

22 2 Corinthians 10:3-4 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

23 These strongholds are not out in the world.
They are surrounding your heart! Only the power of God can take them down.

24 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

25 With the weapons of our warfare,
we conquer our Zion for our King. There is no stronghold that can resist the power of his might!

26 Nahum 3:12 All thy strong holds shall be like fig trees with the firstripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.

27 The new birth is only the beginning.
We want to “grow up into Christ in all things” (Eph 4:15). To do this, we must learn to put off the old and put on the new.

28 2 Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. The influence of the “outward man” (the nature of the flesh) decreases as “the inward man” (the nature of Christ) is given room to grow.

29 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ,
he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

30 Imagine coming out of a cold house into the warmth of the midday sun.
Going outside is not what makes you warm. The SUN warms you.

31 You simply put yourself in a position to be warmed by the sun.
We present ourselves before God to be transformed by him.

32 Romans 12: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

33 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

34 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. We cannot renew ourselves. Only GOD can make things new! Our thoughts are renewed by the miracle of transformation.

35 Only God can change our spots. Only he can give us a new heart.

36 We are renewed by God as his light shines in our hearts.

37 2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

38 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

39 We put on the NEW, and the OLD fades away.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. We put on the NEW, and the OLD fades away.

40 “Put on the new man” and “put off the old man” (Col 3:9-10).

41 “Put on the new man” and “put off the old man” (Col 3:9-10).
“Put on the armour of light” and “cast off the works of darkness” (Rom 13:12).

42 “Put on the new man” and “put off the old man” (Col 3:9-10).
“Put on the armour of light” and “cast off the works of darkness” (Rom 13:12). “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh” (Rom 13:14).

43 “Put on the new man” and “put off the old man” (Col 3:9-10).
“Put on the armour of light” and “cast off the works of darkness” (Rom 13:12). “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh” (Rom 13:14). And the best known: .

44 Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

45 Ephesians 6: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

46

47 Put on Christ our truth. Be spiritually awake and ready to act.

48 Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, Luke 12:35 Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

49 Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, 1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

50

51 Put on Christ our Righteousness.

52 Philippians 3:9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

53

54 Romans 10:15b …as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

55 Romans 10:15b …as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But feet are only beautiful when they are protected!

56 Song of Solomon 7:1a How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter!

57 Song of Solomon 7:1a How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince's daughter!
Just as shoes protect our feet from the rough terrain, Christ our peace cushions us from the harshness of this world.

58

59 Psalm 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

60 Stand behind Christ your Shield. Let him go before you.

61

62 Protect your mind by putting on Christ the
Hope of our salvation.

63 1 Thessalonians 5:8-9 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

64 Psalm 140:7 O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

65

66 Take up the sword of Christ, the living Word of God.

67 The sword of the Spirit comes from the Lord’s mouth:
Revelation 1:16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

68 When we speak his message, that sword is in our mouth as well.
Isaiah 49:2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

69

70 The man who prays is the one who knows that without Christ, he can do nothing.

71 When we put on the armor of God, we are victors in the battle of the flesh and Spirit, having overcome the enmity of the carnal mind.

72 When we put on the armor of God, we are victors in the battle of the flesh and Spirit, having overcome the enmity of the carnal mind. “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh” (Gal 5:16).

73 We are equipped to stand against the enmity of the devil and his seed.

74 Not cowering in fear.

75 Not trying to stand in our own power.

76 Armed and Ready.
