1 In 1972, the United States and Canada signed the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. The agreement is still in place, having most recently been updated and signed in 2012 by officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Environment Canada. The agreement shows a commitment from both countries to protect the Great Lakes and surrounding communities. Part A Explain why Canada is concerned about pollution in the Great Lakes.
