2 What Native tribes were found in your regions and what area of the region?
The Native tribes in The Great Basin are the Western Shoshone, the Goshute, the Ute, the Paiute, the Kawaiisu, the Chemehuevi, and the Bannock. The tribes were divided into the Northern, Southern, Owens Valley, and the Washoe.

3 How did the geography influence the tribes of that region?
The geography influenced the tribes because they knew the land well and they understood the environment and their cycles. Little groups of people hunted for food and gathered. They pattern their lives to take advantage of the diverse and abundant resources. They hunted many animals, such as jackrabbits, antelope, and waterfowl; gathered pine nuts and berries; and dug roots and tubers. They had enough food to last them from fall to winter. Where the geography and climate allowed it, some also fished and farmed small plots. The people of the tribes were brave and smart.

4 What type of food source and crops did the each tribe produce, which was the main food source of food supply? Some Great Basin tribes such as Paiute, Shoshone, Utes and Washoe ate roots, bulbs, seeds, nuts acorns, berries, grasses, cattails, ducks, rabbits, squirrels, antelope, beavers, deer, bison, elk, lizards, insects, grubs and fish. Their main food source is seeds and salmon.

5 What type of shelter did each tribe use and why did they choose that particular shelter?
The Great Basin has a lot of houses, shelters, and homes. It all depends of the available materials, such as some tribes use Tipis, because they didn’t have enough resources to make good and steady houses, also they made Tipis to travel with.

6 What was their most profitable export product and most desired import product?
The Great Basin most profitable export product is fur, they used fur for making clothes . The most desired import product is seeds, they mostly ate seeds and grew crops.

7 Which tribes flourished and which ones did not survive as long
Which tribes flourished and which ones did not survive as long? Why do you think this occurred? Some Great Basin tribes live long, some fall short. For example, The Great Basin tribe Bannock lived till The Battle of Kelly Greek in Nevada, at that time Bannock and Shoshone killed four men in an incident. Other tribes died. I believe that the other tribes like Ute tribe died because tribes from other regions like The Southwest.

8 How could the tribes have bettered their way of life?
The tribes could of bettered their lives by moving to different regions and expanding their land by people (also land). If they had more people it would be hard for the tribes to kill them. They should also stop fighting and join tribes to conquer even more land so the tribes still live to this day.
