8 What is Expected CMS is requesting 4 things from the facilities:
An Emergency Plan Based on risk assessment on an “all hazard approach”. Your Policy and Procedures This will be based on your emergency plan. Your Communication Plan Compliant with federal, state, and local law Training and Testing Drills Exercises

9 How Emergency Management Fits In – Before an Event
Provide general guidance and information Contact Information Hazard Mitigation Plan – Identifies Threats & Hazards Community Workbook & Guide Plan Review* Site Visits/Meetings* Assistance with training and exercise avenues File Client List Information with us *Dependent on availability

10 How Emergency Management Fits In – During an Event
Clients/facilities need to contact if they have an immediate emergency/need We are not 1st responders – we support/coordinate 1st responder agencies & resources to support the incident Competing priorities – we should not be 2nd or 3rd contact Listen to local media outlets for direction/assistance Work with/contact local jurisdiction Public Helpline may be established Facility/Agency Contact into County EOC/EM Office
