3. What are we doing today?
Today we are going to be looking at some vocabulary words for geometry.
Each group will be responsible for one word and at the end of the lesson we will decorate a four leaf clover with your word and things dealing with your word. So pay attention!!!
At the end we will do some puzzles on more perimeter, area, and circumference.

4. Geometry Vocabulary Point: has position, no thickness or distance.
Line: made of infinitely
many points
Line segment: a subset
of the points on a line with
endpoints.
Ray: defined as having a
point on one end and a
continuing line on the other.

5. Geometry Vocabulary Angle: determined by the intersection of two rays.
Circle: the set of infinitely many points that are the same distance from the center forming a circular area, measuring 360 degrees.

6. Geometry Vocabulary
Perpendicular lines: lines that intersect at a point to form right angles.
Parallel lines: lie in the same plane and are lines in which every point is equidistant from the corresponding point on the other line.
