History and forecast of Urban Construction Funding received by the City of Suffolk from VDOT:
FY 2007 $4 Million
FY 2008 $2 Million
FY Less than $1 Million (estimated)
FY 2010 ?
Clearly the state is transitioning into a maintenance only funding source and organization. Unless funding allocations increase significantly, roadway widening and construction projects in the state of Virginia will become extremely rare if they are to be funded by the state.
