2 NWD Program Purpose To increase nursing education opportunities for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, including racial and ethnic minorities, who are underrepresented among registered nurses

3 NWD Program Goals Increase access to high quality, culturally-aligned registered nurse providers that reflect the diversity of the communities in which they serve Support innovative projects that recruit, enroll, retain and graduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds in registered nursing programs Facilitate diploma or associates degree RNs to become baccalaureate-prepared RNs via bridge or degree completion programs Prepare practicing RNs for advanced nursing education
