Canopy – insects, birds Subcanopy – food for tree dwelling mammals, nests, shelter Snag – (dead or dying) insects, holes for shelter Understory – varied habitat, food, shelter Forest floor – insects, decomposers

Wood products (shelter, furniture, etc.) Fire for fuel and warmth Paper Food Medicine (many cancer drugs) Ecotourism
