Once they pass the MCAT quiz on Moodle, they will then be able to see patients. The students will receive their first patient. The patient will arrive and rceive information about the “Chief complaint”,which they will record on a SOAP chart.

The students will interview the patient and conduct an examination which will reveal more symptoms. They will record this information in the SOAP chart and then order lab tests. The student teams will use a flow chart to narrow down the diseases. The students will receive a new password to go to Moodle to receive the lab results. This will narrow down the disease and they should be able to diagnose the patients disease.

14 Medical Sleuth Project
Once the students diagnose the disease, they will need to research the disease, determine a treatment and present their findings to the class. Back to units of study
