"What does an owl with attitude have?“
OWLS “Birds of prey” "What does an owl with attitude have?“ "A scowl!"

Night creatures All owls are nocturnal, they sleep during the day and are awake during night hours.

Living Arrangements Owls live in old bird nests, in tree holes, or under ground

Baby owlets! Owls lay eggs, just like birds

Feathers With an Owl's wing, the comb-like feather edge breaks down the turbulence into little groups called micro-turbulences. This effectively muffles the sound of the air rushing over the wing surface and allows the Owl to fly silently.

Feathers The pattern to the feathers allow the owl to be camouflaged

Wings Owls have a huge wing span...up to 5 feet!

Hearing An Owl uses unique, sensitive ears to locate prey by listening for prey movements through ground cover such as leaves, foliage, or even snow. When a noise is heard, the Owl is able to tell its direction Ear tufts Facial disk

“Wise” Eyes Eyes are held in place by bony structures in the skull. For this reason, an Owl cannot "roll" or move its eyes - that is, it can only look straight ahead! However, the Owl is able to turn its head up to 270 degrees left or right from the forward facing position, and almost upside down.

Talons An Owl's foot has four toes. When in flight, 3 of these toes face forward, and one backwards. When perched, or clutching prey, the outer front toe on each foot swivels to face the rear. It is able to do this because of a unique flexible joint.

“OWCH!” says the snake.

“Come out come out wherever you are!”

“My vertebrae!”
