Ancient Greek in the 6th and 5th century B.C. Invented amazing pottery that is still in “awe” today. They used mythological themes that were painted onto red vases.

Why: Pottery was porous (what does this vocabulary word mean?)
How: It was not applied to pottery until the 1st Century B.C.

How: The ground mixture of kaolin and petuntse
Why: Wasn't discovered until 618 A.D. because the Western Asian Cultures did not share the secret of porcelain until then. They kept it a secret for many years. Europe didn't start doing pottery until the 1500s!
