2 The Pelvic Girdle The pelvic girdle is formed from the pair of hip bones comprised of: The ilium The pubis The ischium Which join with the sacrum posteriorly and join each other Anteriorly (symphysis pubis) They form a bassin-like girdle which supports the bladder and abdominal contents

From the hip to the knee The Patella (knee cap) A sesamoid bone Found in the tendon of the quadriceps muscle Femur Patella

Tibia and fibula From the knee to the ankle, these are the leg bones The fibula is lateral The tibia is medial Medial Malleolus and Lateral Malleolus The distal ends of the two bones extend to the medial and lateral sides of the ankle Commonly referred to as the ankle bones Fibula Tibia Lateral Malleolus Malléole médiale
