2 Yellow Journalism is a type of journalism that presents little researched news and instead used eye-catching headlines that helps to sell more newspapers.

3 History behind Yellow Journalism
During the 1890s, journalism that sensationalized dramatic events was a powerful force that helped the US win the Spanish American War. Led by newspaper owners William Randolph Hearst and Joseph Pulitzer, journalism of the 1890s used melodramatic, romance, and hyperbole to sell millions of newspapers. 4 During the time of the Oj Simpson case yellow journalism was used a lot. Many newspapers were using his success as a reason to use yellow journalism as a way to sell their newspapers. Things were wrote all over the newspapers over his case. OJ Simpson Case

5 Another example of Yellow Journalism is the Apple vs
Another example of Yellow Journalism is the Apple vs. Samsung court case. The newspapers and tabloids were all over this because it was two of the biggest phone manufactures going against each other and they knew they would get a lot of papers sold if they wrote about this. Apple VS. Samsung

6 The Spanish American War is first where yellow journalism was introduced. Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst published false articles and exaggerated them to the point where people believed that they were true. Spanish American War

7 An example that hit all across the world was “Botox Mom” which was a mom who gave her 8 year old daughter a botox. The tabloids and newspapers got all over this because it was such a huge subject in which people had many different opinions about it. Botox Mom

8 Octomom was a huge deal going on at the same time as Botox Mom, newspapers and tabloids were fighting over the two and comparing the two. Octomom was said to be an unfit mom in all of the newspapers. OctoMom

9 Crazed women chases after Brad Pitt
This title gives you the idea that a crazy person is chasing after a celebrity when in reality she is just wanting to take a picture. The media uses these titles so they can make situations look more dramtic. Crazed women chases after Brad Pitt

10 This article made the public believe that Tiger Woods was a sex addict, when in reality he only just cheated. The media made it look like this so that they would draw in more buyers to buy the article. Tiger Woods sex addict?
