1 Vehicle – Care and Maintenance

2 Appearance Care You represent Timberlake. You should project a professional image by keeping your vehicle clean and neat. Wash the exterior and vacuum the interior twice per month. Remove trash at least once per week. Protect your vehicle’s body and paint from corrosion.

3 What Causes Corrosion? Corrosion is the result of deterioration or removal of paint and protective coatings from your vehicle.

4 Common Causes Road salt, dirt and moisture accumulation;
Stone and gravel impact; Insects, tree sap and tar.

5 Prevention - Washing Wash your vehicle regularly, twice per month. Always wash in the shade using a mild car wash soap, and rinse completely with clean water. Do not use abrasive or strong cleaning materials such as steel wool or scouring powder, which will scratch metal and painted surfaces.

6 Special Care Since construction sites are dusty, hose off the undercarriage at least once a month. All wheels and wheel trim, especially aluminum and chrome plated wheels should be cleaned regularly with mild soap and water to prevent corrosion.

7 Interior Care Use Fabric or Vinyl Cleaner to clean upholstery and carpeting. Vacuum the interior twice per month. The lenses in front of the instruments in the vehicle are a molded clear plastic. Use a wet soft rag to avoid scratching the plastic. Use a mild soap solution or lukewarm water to clean seat belts.

8 Glass Surfaces All glass surfaces should be cleaned on a regular basis with any commercial household-type glass cleaner. Always use washer fluid when using the windshield wipers to remove salt or dirt from a dry windshield.

9 Maintenance Schedules
Use the Preventative Maintenance Schedule in the Coupon Book provided with your vehicle.

10 Once a Month Check tire pressure and look for unusual wear or damage.
Check all lights and other electrical items for correct operation. Check fluids such as the washer fluid reservoir. Use windshield washer solvent (not radiator antifreeze).
