Where are we? Ardmay House is located on the shores of Loch Long, just outside the village of Arrochar.

Getting ready for your trip

What should I pack/not pack? Old comfy warm clothes Lots of socks and underwear Trainers Jammies Midge repellent/sun tan lotion (seasonal) Wash kit and towel Lunch box and water bottle Disposable camera Do not bring X Ipods/MP3 Players X Mobile phones X Digital cameras X Electronic games and equipment X Brand new clothes/jeans Full kit-list available on the Ardmay website: www.ardmay.com

Arriving at Ardmay Coach will leave from school – please dont bring any sweeties for the journey! Welcome to the house, find your bedroom and getting to know the house and grounds. Find out your group and meet your instructor for the week. Lunch at Ardmay – you wont need a packed lunch on Monday. Fire drill to make sure everyone knows where the fire exits are. First activity – Forest walk.

Outdoor Activities During the residential week at Ardmay House you will take part in a variety of outdoor activities including: Forest Walk Canoeing Climbing/Abseiling Mountain Adventure Problem Solving Weaseling

Staff and Safety High staff to child ratio. AALA licence All staff enhanced disclosure checked and highly qualified with NGB qualifications.

On a Monday evening, all pupils write a postcard to send home. They also keep a daily diary of the activities they have done each day.

Evening Activities After dinner there will be some time to relax and have a shower before the evening activities which run from 7-9pm. These include: Games night Beach art

At Ardmay we operate a healthy eating policy, serving a child-friendly, nutritious menu. Breakfast: Cereals, toast with spreads, fruit juice. Lunch: Filled rolls, fruit, crisps, biscuits and juice. Dinner: Soup, choice of two main courses (always one vegetarian option) and a pudding. Supper: Home baking and juice. Tuck shop: £1/day

End of the week – home time! On a Friday morning, we do a big clean up before the bus arrives. There is a chance to go to the souvenir shop to buy a memento of the trip.

We do a review of all we have achieved during the week before the closing ceremony, where each pupil will receive a certificate of achievement.
