Out of 50 responses received so far 16 contained police data 12 contained courts data 8 contained both On average, countries were able to reply to one-third of the police questions and one-quarter of the courts questions

The question which received more data was "Theft of Cultural Property, number of offences" (14 out of 16 responding countries) "Illicit Trafficking (import, export of transfer) in Cultural Property, number of offences" (9 out of 16). The lowest number of responding countries (4) was observed at questions on "Possession/handling of stolen Cultural Property" both as regards number of offences and persons brought into formal contact with the police.

7 out of 12 countries provided data regarding persons convicted for "Illicit Trafficking (import, export of transfer) in Cultural Property" and "other", indicating that in many countries these crimes are dealt with under different legislation. Only 3 countries were able to provide data on "Unlawful excavation of Cultural Property, Persons Convicted".

10 Interpol statistics on theft of cultural property
Interpol has collected data on theft of cultural property for the year 2007 and has received 46 responses. Only 9 countries responded to both Interpol and the CTS and only 2 countries reported the same figures to both Organizations. In all other cases the figures provided to the CTS were much lower than those provided to Interpol.
