1 Developing Hydraulic Model of Water Distribution Network in Rafidia Area, Nablus by Abeer Melhim Noor Saleh Supervisor Dr.Mohmmad Almasri

2 Objectives of the project
To estimate the per capita water consumption of zone w0 of Rafedia. . To hydraulically analyze the WDN of Rafedia W0 zone using EPANET. . To propose design of the new WDN.

3 Study area Location: Topography:
Study area is Rafidia zone W0, which is located in Nablus. Topography: Height ranges between from 440m and 510m.

4 Study area Population of Nablus 126,000 persons.
Population of Rafidia 7,000 persons. Population of W0 is 3,500 persons.

8 Water resources

9 Water consumption Water consumption per month in 2009.

10 Water consumption Average consumption per month=12218m3 average consumption per capita per month= 3.5m3 average consumption per capita per day=.11m3 .

11 Network .

12 Steps for construction the hydraulic model
1. Discretization 2. Demand assignment 3. Head loss expression and it’s coefficient.

13 Discretization

14 Discretization

15 Demand and elevation assignment
Sources of UFW demand calculation Assign the demand and elevation at each node

28 Conclusions Use of Water meters was very effective
EPANET is good in hydraulic simulation GIS is effective in spatially joining AUTOCAD is effective in making accurate connection
