3. Uniform
Pupils wear school uniform.

4. The school day begins.
Some schools have a breakfast club for children who arrive at school early when their parents go to work.
Most children arrive at about 8.45am and a teacher blows a whistle to signal the start of the day.

5. Children hang their coats and bags up in the cloakroom.

6. Morning
At 9.00am the teacher takes the register. Children are marked as present or absent.
After registration the whole school comes together for assembly. The children listen to a story told by a teacher or another class. They hear the school’s news. Sometimes they sing a song.

7. The first lesson usually begins at 9.30am.
Break time is at 10.30am. Children can have a carton of milk which their parents pay for in advance. Children are allowed to bring a biscuit as a snack.

8. Lunch time Lunch time is 12.30pm until 1.30pm.
Children can either bring their own packed lunch or have a school dinner.
Dinner ladies supervise the children during lunch time.
All children stay at school during lunch time.

9. Playground

10. Home time School finishes at 3.30pm.
The lollypop lady or man helps children cross the road safely.
