David brings his first wife, the daughter of Saul, back to his household.
David brings the Ark to Jerusalem.

4. David is a Pious Man David desires to build a house for God.
God instead will build a house for David.

This is a Messianic Prophecy.
David is a man of violence. Solomon will be a man of peace.

David is given many victories.

David defeats his enemies in many battles.
The Lord gives David victory.
This was partial fulfillment of the Mosaic Covenant.

David remembers his promise to Jonathan.
David seeks out the last heir of Jonathan.
David gives Mephibosheth all that was Saul’s
Mephibosheth is treated like a son of David.

9. David is a Loyal Man The King of the Ammonites dies.
David sends envoys of friendship to the new king.
The new king treats them poorly.
The new king declares war on David.

10. David is Just a Man David was where he shouldn’t have been.
David was idle.
David plans on how he can sin with Bathsheba.
David murders a good man.

11. David is a Humble Man Nathan confronts David with his sin.
David repents of his sin.
There are consequences.
The death of his son.
A curse against the house of David.
God does not write off sinners.

12. David is a Man Who Gets Back Up
Joab calls for David to rejoin the fight.
David jumps to his duty.
David defeats his enemies.

13. Conclusion David’s Positives Qualities:
Honorable, Wise, Pious, Courageous, Honest, Loyal, Humble
When we fall, we must get back up.
Repentance and correctional action are necessary.
