It is of utmost importance to promote, through action, the belief that all children, no matter their background or stressors, can learn and make a significant impact on their education through developing in them character traits that lead to success against all odds. When we are developing Habits of Mind in our students, we are preparing them for college, for work, and for life. Pick someone to read each bullet.

7 HOM Self-Assessment Take 2-3 minutes to complete the Habits of Mind Self-Assessment

8 Table Talk Of the 16 HOM, look at the HOM you address regularly and share out what this looks like in your class. How might you connect this HOM to a Reed strategy that is used in your practice? Which Habits of Mind did we use with “Table Talk”? 3-5 minutes in PLCs Use a “Talking Stick” 1. One person shares 2. While others listen 3. Next person paraphrases or makes connection before sharing their own thinking 4. Everyone must share. Share-Out Whole Group
