3 Focuses on RIA System requirements
1. Building Institutional Frameworks for RIA – Guidance for Policy Makers Focuses on RIA System requirements What are the necessary elements for a functioning RIA system based on OECD best practice? Proposes an adaptive approach How can existing policy methods and administrative practices be built upon to improve analysis? Open to further development Seeks feed back and suggestions from users based on experience.

4 2. Undertaking RIA – A handbook for Policy Analysts
Focuses on the RIA product Useful for countries that have not developed comprehensive RIA systems and developed their own guidance material Plain language guidance Basic step by step guidance on how to assess the impact of a regulatory proposal Currently in draft form Will benefit from revisions based on user experience. Being developed in collaboration with the World Bank

5 3. RIA - Tools for Policy Coherence
To be published late 2008 Based on papers prepared by OECD over 2006 – 2007 Analysis of more sophisticated RIA Systems examines systemic issues with RIA based on OECD country experiences Covers a range of issues with RIA system quality, competition tools, methodological guidance, application to specific sectors
