4 The NH Community Transport Project
RANCH received funding from Loddon Mallee Integrated Cancer Services in late 2016 to: Map and profile NH transport programs in the Loddon Mallee Region. Review a set of highly successful NH transport programs to identify the factors that make them successful. Develop a toolkit to assist other houses establish or enhance their transport programs Offer seed-funding for two houses in the region to either establish or enhance transport programs for cancer and other patients using the toolkit.

Using a Survey Monkey tool we have identified the community transport services provided by NHs in the Loddon Mallee region 39 of the 41 NHs responded Only 13 NHs indicated that they did not provide any community transport

7 NHs have been identified as providers of successful community transport programs: Swan Hill NH (Mallee Network) Sea Lake NH (Mallee Network) Inglewood Community NH (RANCH network) Girgarre Community Cottage (RANCH network) Rushworth Community House (RANCH network) Lancefield NH (RANCH network) Romsey NH (RANCH network)

The 7 services have been reviewed to: clarify the type of service provided identify the factors that have contributed to the success of the service identify resources that could assist other NHs to develop or enhance community transport services to their communities

The NH Community Transport Project Community Transport Grants

20 what grants are available through the NH Community Transport Project?
Two (2) $5000 grants will be available to Neighbourhood Houses to to either establish or enhance transport programs for cancer and other patients

21 What will the Grant process involve?
Criteria will be developed to inform grant selection process (April) A grant application package will be developed and endorsed by NHCT Reference Group (Early May) Expressions of interest will be invited from Loddon Mallee Neighbourhood Houses (Early May) Expressions of Interests will be reviewed by NHCT Reference Group and successful recipients identified (Mid June)

22 What is participatory Action Research?
Participatory action research is a form of action research in which professional social researchers operate as full collaborators with members of organizations in studying and transforming those organizations. It is an ongoing organizational learning process, a research approach that emphasizes co-learning, participation and organizational transformation. (Greenwood et al, 1993).
