What you, as a consultant, are trying to achieve with the company. Metrics you want to reach “How can Little Island sell 5M more blocks of ice cream by 2020?” “How can Little Island integrate itself into family life and increase revenue to $10m by 2020?”

3 Size of the Prize This is the end result of your strategies Example ”How can Little Island increase its revenue to $10M by 2020?” In Little Island, the Size of the Prize is $10m It may be another metric if your case is a not-for-profit ”How can X Hospital cure blindness in 1000 people by 2020?”

17 Beca’s Advice The case will be lengthy and not all detail in it will be relevant Focus on the questions asked in the cover letter Feel free to use your own knowledge and research ‘Infrastructure’ is used in a broad sense – not just buildings but also roads, water, electrical, communications (data access), …. Strike a balance between creativity and realism

18 Beca’s Advice No changes to the current plans – only propose additional ideas and cover additional benefits Ensure you cover the benefits of your idea that will extend into the future (legacy) There are 4 major questions – ensure your 2-3 strategies each cover most/all of them Consider the popularity of your ideas Consider how the Council will fund your ideas and make money from them – understand how they make money
