2. Slovakia – new European Union state
Slovakia is a small country in the heart of Europe.
A lot of people even do not know where it is located and it is often confused with Slovenia. It is believed that geographical middle of Europe is located in Middle Slovakia, close to Kremnica Mines / Krahule.

3. Czechoslovakia???
As many of you probably know, there used to be a state called Czechoslovakia. 13 years ago, in 1993, this country split and Czech Republic and Slovak Republic were created.

4. Bratislava The Capital city of the Slovak Republic is Bratislava
This biggest city, with population around 450,000 inhabitants, is situated in the most western part of the Slovak Republic, only some 40 km away from Vienna

5. High Tatras (Vysoké Tatry)
Although Slovakia is a small country with only 5,5 millions of inhabitants, it has beautiful and unspoiled country side. Among most beautiful and famous tourist sites High Tatras can be enlisted. High Tatras are the smallest highlands in the world, with highest peak (Gerlach peak) of 2655 meters high.

6. Prešov I am studying in the city of Prešov. This
beautiful historical city is located in Eastern
Slovakia and with population around 100,000 is 3rd biggest city in Slovakia.
