3. Star of David Is a recognized symbol of Jewish identity and Judaism.
A Star of David, often yellow-coloured, was used by the Nazis during the Holocaust as a method of identifying Jews.

4. The Holocaust
The Nazis murdered approximately 6 million Jews in a systematic state-sponsored campaign which attempted to wipe out European Jews.
By May 1945 close to 2 out of every 3 European Jews had been murdered.
Untermenschen – those deemed subhuman and unworthy of life; Jews, black people, gay/lesbian, Roma/Sinti, mentally/physically disabled/anyone who did not agree with Nazi views, anyone who did not conform to the Aryan ideal
Hundreds of concentration camps were established in Europe with the aim of systematically destroying millions of men, women and children.

5. 27th Jan is Holocaust Memorial Day
This is a national event dedicated to the remembrance of the victims of The Holocaust
Six million are thought to have perished during the Holocaust, of those 1.5 million were children.
We must not forget those who were persecuted during the Holocaust and try and act on the lessons that it teaches us.
