1 Dangers of using a mobile phone
Health and Safety Poster : Risks of using a mobile phone. Unit 6 Daniel Whitaker Dangers of using a mobile phone Introduction This poster is about specifying importance of not using mobile phones whilst driving. If you use your mobile phone whilst driving you could end up in a serious car crash. Dangers to Children Children might be more vulnerable because their bodies and nervous systems are still developing. Some research today has shown that there are links to leukaemia. For some children you can lower the exposure to radio waves by only allowing them to use mobile phones for important and short calls.. The Dangers of Mobiles causing Cancer Mobile phones cause radio frequency radiation which are the main cause of head cancer. But some studies to date have no direct link to head cancers. Over time the amount of calls made on mobiles has increased and the duration on them and the number of people using them. However with the improvement of modern technology mobile phones has reduced power outputs. Which may be a cause of health problems. Using a mobile phone is not a good idea because you could get involved in a car crash. Radio waves are signalled throughout the phone. Which are transmitted in all directions. This cause lead to you having various health problems including cancer and infertility. Interference with electrical equipment Electrical equipment such as Pacemakers, monitors and machines in hospitals and electrical systems on aeroplanes are all being interfered with mobile phones. If mobile phones are not allowed in certain areas of the hospital then they display posters to show this . It is considered safe to use a mobile phone as long as you have a pace maker but you must use and hold your mobile phone to your right ear. Mobile phones are generally not allowed in hospitals but they can have varying rules. You should always check with hospital staff first before use. If hospitals do not permit mobile use within their hospital they will display a poster. Traffic Accidents caused by mobile phones. Research shows that using a mobile phone can distract people from driving this is 3-4 more times likely to cause an accident. 1.3 million accidents are blamed on drivers using cell phones. When you text and drive at the same time it takes 5 seconds for the minimal amount of time away from the road. 23% of auto collisions happened in 2011 which involved cell phones. If you are travelling at 55mph then equals the distance in which you drive on a football pitch. 13% of all drivers aged are involved in car accidents that involve texting. Conclusion. As a conclusion mobile phones have been shown to cause a increased risk of brain tumours. the use of mobile phones and the lack of data for mobile phone use over time periods longer than 15 years warrant further research of mobile phone use and brain cancer risk. With the recent popularity of mobile phone use among younger people, and therefore a potentially longer lifetime of exposure, World Health Organisation has promoted further research which is currently assessing the health impact of Radio Frequency fields.
