2 SINGULAR (ONE) POSSESSIVE NOUNS
1 pumpkin

3 Possessive Possess means to have or to own.
A Possessive Noun shows who or what has or owns something.

4 That is Henrys pumpkin. What does Henry have or own? That is Henrys pumpkin. Who is the subject?

5 Make it POSSESSIVE! That is Henry’s pumpkin.
Add an apostrophe (‘) and the letter “s” to make a singular noun possessive. That is Henry’s pumpkin.

6 YOUR TURN. Write the subject in blue along with the apostrophe (‘)

Add an apostrophe (‘) to the end of a plural noun makes it possessive. Those are the boys’ pumpkins.

13 IRREGULAR PLURAL (+1) POSSESSIVE NOUNS

What do the children have or own? Those are the childrens pumpkins. Who are the subject?

15 Make it POSSESSIVE! Those are the children’s pumpkins.
Add an apostrophe (‘) and “s” forms a possessive of plural nouns not ending in “s”. Those are the children’s pumpkins.
