6 Understand our mandate
As a ministry of the Catholic Church we are called to: Provide holistic care that demonstrates love and respect for the inherent dignity of every person; Create the social conditions that allow people to reach their full human potential and to realise their human dignity; Give priority to the needs and opportunities of the poor, disadvantaged and marginalised; Be prudent managers and share our resources in the interests of the community as a whole; Be good stewards of the environment, conscious of the interdependence of all living creatures and the finite nature of our natural resources.
