Jacob was blessed with 12 sons, but Joseph was his favorite.

Joseph had a dream about his brothers bowing down to him.

The dream made his brothers even more angry with him.

Jacob sent Joseph to check on his brothers and their flock.

They were so angry they decided to throw him into a pit.

Then they decided to sell him to some Ishmaelite traders.

They covered Joseph’s coat with blood to give to their father.

Joseph was taken to Egypt and sold as a slave to Potiphar.

Joseph was put in charge of all that Potiphar owned.

Potiphar’s wife began to admire and desire Joseph.

One day she grabbed Joseph, so he ran out of the house.

Potiphar’s wife lied about Joseph, and he was put in prison.

Joseph interpreted the dreams of the baker and cupbearer.

Pharaoh dreamed about 7 lean cows eating 7 fat cows.

He also dreamed about 7 shriveled and full heads of grain.

There would be 7 good years followed by 7 years of famine.

Joseph was made second-in-command over all of Egypt.

To prepare Joseph had places built to store the surplus grain.

When the famine came everyone went to Egypt to buy grain.

One day Jacob also sent his sons to Egypt to buy grain.

Joseph’s brothers bowed down to him but did not know him.

Joseph accused them of being spies to learn more about them.

Joseph wept loudly when he decided to tell them who he was.

Even though they had hurt him, Joseph chose to forgive them.

Do the HARD thing because it’s the RIGHT thing to do.

1. Remember how much God has forgiven you.
2. Remember how God treats you after He has forgiven you. 3. Remember God can use bad things to bring about good. Colossians 3: “So, as those who have been chosen of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, whoever has a complaint against anyone; just as the Lord forgave you, so also should you.” “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives” (Genesis 50:20 NIV). Luke 6: “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Romans 8:28 “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
