Come up with a subject (a noun.)
Example: kitten

Now tell WHAT KIND of kitten.
Example: fluffy

Now tell HOW MANY kittens.
Example: a

Now tell WHICH kitten. Example: with a white chin

Come up with a verb. Example: snoozed

Now tell WHEN it snoozed.
Example: after it ate

Now tell WHERE it snoozed.
Example: on a cozy blanket

Mix the words and phrases to make the best sentence.

Questions to consider:
After it ate, a fluffy kitten with a white chin snoozed gently on a cozy blanket. How is it different from saying, “A kitten slept”? Is there more than one way to arrange the words and phrases? What difference would it make to rearrange the words and phrases?

Now you create your own masterpiece sentences.
Look at the pictures. Fill in the graphic organizer. Cut the pieces OR re-write the words and phrases on sticky notes and move them around to make the best sentences.
