4. Current process of joining
A focus on the shore side facilities that support access
Not everyone has shore side facilities
Complex form
Link between the facilities you have and who can be catered for is not clear
Categories catered for focus too much on impairment rather than the support and what is on offer
Could shift to accessibility statements that outline what is on offer, any limitations your venue has and the steps taken to ensure what is on offer is open to all

5. Current process of joining
Does not help people judge what is on offer on the water
Does very little to establish standards all should meet
Reputation risk to all if one or two don’t meet standards
Process needs to be simple, robust, transparent and ensure clarity of what is on offer

6. A new approach? A process that supports you to enable sailors to:
Know what is going on and enjoy the different opportunities available
Feel safe and able to raise concerns
Take part in the activities on offer
