Answer: A Almost all countries have signed one or more human rights declarations. Unfortunately there is often a difference on how much that means, depending on where you live.

Answer :B False Women are not equal in many areas. The average pay for women in the UK is 13.9% lower than men, many women are not safe from violence – in fact two women in the UK are killed each week by a current or former partner.

Answer: C 51%. This may seem obvious, but it varies from country to country. But we are basically talking about, as you might expect, at least half the population of the world. In most developed countries it’s 51%. But in countries such as India and China, where boy babies are preferred and babies may be aborted or poorly fed just because they are female, there are 120 boy babies for every 100 girls.

Answer: B 22.7% in June 2016, i.e. 1 in 5. The UK has only 29% – ranking 48th in world, behind most other EU countries and many developing countries. In East Africa the country of Rwanda has over 60%.

Answer C: Every 2 minutes a woman dies in childbirth somewhere in the world- but 99% of these deaths are in developing countries and most of them could be avoided through better access to healthcare.
