Hypothesize: What do the Electoral Votes on this map tell you? Using the map only, why does this election spell war?

2 The Confederate States of America
Immediately following the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860, South Carolina Secedes and 6 states follow. These states formed the Confederate States of America

3 Right to Secede-Main Idea #8
The Confederate States claimed they were granted the right to secede in the Declaration of Independence “the government rests upon the consent of the governed, and that it is the right of the people to alter or abolish a government whenever it becomes destructive of the ends for which it was established.” Basically, we signed off on joining the Union, therefore, we can sign ourselves out.

5 Confederate Constitution vs. USA
The only differences include: There will be no laws limiting slavery There will be no Tariffs States’ Rights will be supreme
