3. Objective
Tutors Linked to Classes provides flexible tutoring to busy community college students. The TLC program provides tutoring to students where and when they need it; before, during and after class. This intervention is aimed at increasing student completion, retention, and engagement in gateway courses.

5. Integration into the Classroom
Faculty are given the opportunity to choose their tutor. Tutors are students who have taken the course from that instructor and received a high grade and are leaders in the classroom. The instructor will integrate the tutor into their classroom teaching.

Faculty buy-in has been foundational in the success of Tutors Linked to Classes. The program really took off through “water cooler talk” amongst the faculty and staff efforts to the see the program to fruition.
