3 Objective Tutors Linked to Classes provides flexible tutoring to busy community college students. The TLC program provides tutoring to students where and when they need it; before, during and after class. This intervention is aimed at increasing student completion, retention, and engagement in gateway courses.

5 Integration into the Classroom
Faculty are given the opportunity to choose their tutor. Tutors are students who have taken the course from that instructor and received a high grade and are leaders in the classroom. The instructor will integrate the tutor into their classroom teaching. How does Tutors Linked to Classes Support Faculty? Course evaluations improve Valuable feedback is gained from the tutors Faculty mentors the tutor and the tutor mentors the students

8 Brought to Scale Tutors Linked to Classes supported 31% of FY16 headcount 12,395 students

9 Exponential Growth There has been a 554% increase in the number of students tutored between 2008 (431) and 2016 (2389). TLC has grown from 5 supported courses in 2007 to 211 courses in Faculty buy-in has been foundational in the success of Tutors Linked to Classes. The program really took off through “water cooler talk” amongst the faculty and staff efforts to the see the program to fruition.

Supporting Student Success Outcomes Courses with a TLC Tutor attached have a higher retention rate Courses with a tutor attached also have a higher GPA and Credit Completion Rate
