How to Choose the Next Step?

3 This presentation is intended to help you make the right decision.
Why is it important? The optimal moment to address the question of what your child should study next has arrived. This involves careful decision making. The more you know, the better informed you are, and there are more chances that you will make the best possible decision. In some cases there are regrets. Not everyone can be 100% sure. However, we can certainly reduce the risks by researching the subjects and the options available. This presentation is intended to help you make the right decision.

4 Promotion Criteria For promotion, students are expected to obtain:
A minimum of 60 % in English in the Annual Examination A minimum of 60 % in two other core subjects (i.e., Mathematics, and Science) An overall Annual Examination average of at least 60 % (the exam average of all subjects) Students intending to take the Science group in O-Level are expected to obtain at least 60 % in General Science in the Annual Examination

Students will be asked to join the matric stream City School offers the Matric System at Johar Campus This Bifurcation will be done based on the MYE Result

6 Examination and Grading
Examinations are held in May/June and October/November each year with results issued in August and January respectively O Level grading is accepted by Universities in many countries, including Canada and the USA, who will admit students on the basis of their O Level performances alone. Grade C in O Level English Language satisfies the English proficiency requirements of many universities in the UK and other countries. Examination and Grading

8 Grading Criteria Grades are awarded in each subject according to the following percentages: A* A B C D E U or less

Compulsory – Subjects English Urdu Islamiyat Pak-Studies Mathematics Islamiyat: Religious Studies in lieu of Islamiyat for non-Muslims

10 Subject Details – GCE O Level
Elective Subjects* Science Group Physics Chemistry Computer Studies Pre-Engineering Physics Chemistry Biology Pre-Medical

11 Subject Details – GCE O Level
Elective Subjects* Business Group Economics Principles of Accounts Business Studies

12 Subject Details – GCE O Level
OPTIONAL SUBJECTS Add Maths (85% and above is required) Sociology Computer Science Global Perspective English Literature World History Art and Design Fashion and Textile

13 Subjects (Group) selection will be done towards the end of Year 8
Year 9 (O-Levels year 1): School based (TCS) exams of all subjects (Mid-year and Final) Year 10 (O-Level Year 2): CAIE exams of 3 compulsory subjects (Islamiyat, Urdu and Pakistan Studies) Year 11 (O-Levels Year 3): CAIE exams of 2 compulsory (English & Math) and minimum 3 selected subjects. CAIE Criteria: * 80% Attendance (min.) * 60% Marks in every subject

14 Guidance Counseling Providing holistic academic and career guidance whilst working with students on their academic choices Our trained counselors also keep in mind the personal challenges and stressors that students might be dealing with. The service is aimed at creating a support system for students to help facilitate them in their decision making process.
