Take out the WHIL due today. Copy the HW (exactly like this): Quiz MONDAY on Ch. 1 Section 1! Study your notes, pages 5-9, and vocab. Open the textbook to page 6 and copy the definition for geography onto your vocab sheet. You can find the definition…look for it.

Geography:
The study of Earth’s surface and the processes that shape it.
Anything in nature, like weather, climate, etc.

3. Connecting Geography and History
What does the Earth have to do with history?
Actually, this whole year we are going to look at how the Earth impacts history.
Impact means to influence. The Earth and the things that happen in nature have the ability to effect people, places, and events.
All of the reasons for why something happens or why something is the way it is can be traced back to geography.

Think of an important event that happened to you outside.
