Network Coding Overview
Network Coding: Combine and forward packets to increase throughput Data is combined at intermediate nodes Decoded at later nodes or at the client Analog Network Coding: Combine wireless signals through interference to increase throughput Decode combined signals at the client Intermediate router amplifies and forwards signals

Requirements Implement a Network coding scheme with equal or better throughput than traditional networks Improve upon previous research Analog Network Coding Practical application to arbitrary network topologies Use of Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP) Use of GNU Radio signal processing libraries

System Complexity Tied to Specific Hardware and Software 2.4 GHz GHz spectrum limited data transfer rate Processing Power Software Defined Radio moves signal processing to general purpose CPU, lots of data and limited CPU cycles

Cost Estimate 7 USRPs (Universal Software Radio Peripheral) in the lab. 7 more USRPs ordered. All softwares are stored and installed in the computer. All necessary hardware and software is already owned by the university.
