2 Answer It takes exactly 365 days and 6 hours for the Earth to make a full trip around the sun. We measure one year as one time that the Earth has orbited (made a trip around) the sun. Unless it is a leap year, which takes place every 4 years. Then it is 366 days for the Earth to make a full trip around the sun.
