2 What is MyWritingLabPlus?
MyWritingLabPlus is an online program designed to help you with writing and grammar necessary for persuasive, logical, and effective writing. You can work on the program from any computer with internet access. You will have access as long as you are currently enrolled as a student. MyWritingLabPlus is used in a variety of courses at CSUB, ranging from English to Business to Chemistry. The online program allows you to work on grammar, mechanics, writing, and research skills. MyWritingLabPlus supports different learning styles as well, utilizing audio files, videos, and interactive exercises.

3 First time logging in If this is your first time logging in since December 15, 2016, you will need to reset your password. Remember to use Firefox or Google Chrome as your web browser! User: CSUB ID ( ) Password: Click “Forgot your password”

6 Changing password If you have difficulties resetting your password, please contact the MWLP Headquarters at or Enter your new password and click continue! You can now sign in to the MyWritingLabPlus website with your new password

9 Course Requirements All English Composition courses are required to complete the Path Builder and Mastery Check tests. English 910 has a requirement of 10 topics English 920 has a requirement of 15 topics English 1109 has a requirement of 10 topics

15 Be sure to click “Submit Activity” after you have completed any exercise.
Recall 1 and 2 consist of 10 multiple choice questions about the topic.

16 You may also save your work for later and continue working where you left off.
To submit your answers click on “Check Answer” and then on “Next Question” once you have completed a question.

17 How to Master a Topic You may also save your progress for later and pick up where you left off. The Apply consists of revising a paragraph using the knowledge you have learned. Again, be sure to submit your attempt.

Hints are available if you get stuck. Taking a hint will cost you a one point deduction from your total score. Be sure to read the directions carefully! By clicking on a word the check mark and the cross will appear to verify if you have selected correctly.

22 Mastery Check All English Composition courses are required to complete the Mastery Check. The Mastery Check is a is a post-diagnostic, similar to the Path Builder, that we use to analyze student results.

23 Unlocks You will be given two attempts to achieve 80% or higher on each activity. If you do not reach an 80% in two tries, the activity will need to be unlocked. Unlocks will be done on request by calling, ing, or stopping by the MyWritingLabPlus Headquarters in Classroom Building 100.You can also fill out an online unlock form on the following link If you request to be unlocked by , please make sure to give us your name, title of the topic and activity that needs to be unlocked, and the section number of your class. Once the topic is unlocked, you can try it again.

24 Resources Pearson Writer Pearson Tutor Services
Pearson Writer is digital tool for writers at all levels. It contain features that check for spelling, grammar, and style errors. Pearson Writer also has a Citation Generator that keeps track of your sources and builds a bibliography. Pearson Tutor Services Pearson Tutor Services is a resource in MyWritingLab that allows you to submit papers on any subject and receive feedback from a person with a Master’s or PhD in that subject. The papers are returned within an average of 24 hours.
