1 Luke 11:24-26

2 Our text considered When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came. ‘ Luke 11:24

3 Our text considered And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Luke 11:25

4 How to fill the space and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ Luke 11:24b

5 How to fill the space The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray. Proverbs 12:26

6 How to fill the space When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Psalm 63:6

7 How to fill the space My hands also I will lift up to Your commandments, Which I love, And I will meditate on Your statutes. Psalm 119:48

8 The Importance of filling the space
Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” Luke 11:26

9 The Importance of filling the space
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. James 4:17

10 The Importance of filling the space
Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. James 1:21

11 The Importance of filling the space
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

12 Conclusion 1. When we remove sin from our life we must replace it with godliness.

13 Conclusion “When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ 25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. 26 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first.” Luke 11:24-26

14 Conclusion 2. The problem for many is they may remove sin, but they never put God in the proper place in their lives. “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” Luke 16:13
